History & Significance
Significance
The Kadammanitta Padayani (October–November) is one of Kerala's most distinctive cultural-religious traditions — enormous effigies (6–10 metres tall) of Bhairavi, Kalan (god of death), Yakshi, and other divine forms are carried in all-night dances. The tradition is unique to Pathanamthitta district.
