One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva, on the banks of the Ganges in Varanasi — among the holiest sites in Hinduism. The current temple was rebuilt in 1780 by Ahilyabai Holkar, its dome later gilded with gold donated by Maharaja Ranjit Singh, and it now connects directly to the river via the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor.
